A Nursing and Physiotherapy School, designed with J.J. Santibañez (arquitectos artesanos).
A bamboo roof structure is coated with colored asphaltic diamond sheets forming a pattern that was inspired by local snake. The concept was to create a landmark that could be appreciated from far away in the valley landscape. Inside, the intricate bamboo structure tries to bear a resemblance to the human body and its bone structure in an attempt to relate to the buildings function. The exterior red walls are made with local clay bricks joined with red clay, they create an exterior passageway that encloses the building and all classrooms creating a calm atmosphere and allowing users to walk around the building without leaving it.
