Voz Amorfa: Set Design

LOCATION: Teatro Juárez, Oaxaca de Juárez, México
YEAR: 2015

Butoh: emptiness; space in between things.

The dancer Rosario Ordoñez Fuentes along with renowned “Butoh” master, Tadashi Endo, created a Butoh-MA performance, “Voz Amorfa” to be presented in Teatro Juárez, Oaxaca. Voz Amorfa consisted of a choreography acted solely by Rosario Fuentes and the intimacy of the performance required a like-minded set presence. To that effect, two acrylic panels where introduced to the stage, one layed down and the other one hanged behind the artist. The reflected figure and gestures of Rosario engulfed the audience with her presence and created an undefined  and seductive space for the Butoh Performance.
